Elegance. Tranquility. Olive Trees. Crystal Clear Sea.

A stunning neo-classical house overlooking Loggos harbour on Paxos

Nestled amongst the olive groves, Anemone House is a beautifully restored sea captain’s house dating from 1841. Carefully renovated using traditional materials and local craftsmanship, it combines authentic Paxos character with contemporary comfort, creating a unique retreat..

From the saltwater pool and shaded terraces to the harbour views and nearby beaches, every part of the house has been designed to celebrate the beauty, history and tranquility of Paxos.

Our Story

We are an British-Greek couple, based in London who fell in love with Paxos 25 years ago and have been coming regularly ever since.

Anemone House is an elegent stone house, overlooking the harbour of Loggos, the most picturesque of the three main towns of Paxos. The house was built in 1841 by a local sea captain who established the first ferry service to Corfu and the mainland. The house was then in the same family for several generations before we were lucky enough to be able to buy it in 2019. We saw the magic potential to create a beautiful family home. The house has been completely renovated and designed to be as eco-friendly as possible using local materials and craftsmen.

Given the local cultural significance, the renovation was overseen by the Hellenic Architectural Society to retain the original design and essence of the property

Modern rustic design blended with traditional Greek heritage.

What We Offer

House Manager

Our house manager is local Paxiot lady who is fluent English speaking and very experienced and knowledgeable about local services that might be needed. She will welcome you on arrival and show you round. She will pop in during the week to ensure all is ok and sort any issues.

Housekeeping

6-day per week maid service is available to clean the house and empty the bins etc. A regular gardener and pool maintenance during the week will keep everything looking neat and tidy and clean throughout your stay.

Laundry

Sheets and towels will be changed regularly.. In peak summer we would try to reduce unecessary laundry where possible out of consideration of the water shortages that Paxos can expereince due to limited natural resources and increaed demand.

Welcome Pack

Local delicacies are part of a personally selected welcome pack together with bottles of our favourite Greek wines to welcome you to your stay. We can arrange an initial shop of essentials if you let us know.

What we love to do on Paxos

  • Days spent at our favourite beaches

Marmari and Kipiadi -both close to Loggos and both pristine, gorgeous pebble beaches, with crystal clear water and quiet, peaceful vibe. Marmari has amazing natural shade from overhanging olive trees that makes it a particular favourite with families. Kipiadi (is the longest beach on Paxos and quite exposed to the sun so either head down there later in the day or bring your own shade. Both involve a bit of a walk down fairly rough paths, but well worth it to reach the idyllic Greek island beach. Places to recharge.

  • Rent a boat and sail around the island

Lot of different boat options are available from Loggos, with everything from small 35hp engine (available without powerboat licence) through to luxury 650hp speedboats (licence needed!). Head up past Lakka and round to the westward side of the island, past soaring cliffs and swimming in incredible blue waters and sea caves. Head over to Anti-Paxos. Bigger boats with a skipper are available from Panos boats (https://panosboats.com/boats/traditional-boat-aglaia-skippered/).

  • Visit Anti-Paxos

A day on the white, sandy beaches at Anti-Paxos with lunch at Bella Vista  -this is a must, to experience the pristine, world-famous, white sandy beaches and amazing turquoise sea of Anti-Paxos. If you don’t rent your own boat you can catch a ride with the sea taxis that go regularly from Gaios (and also more limited from Lakka -check local timetables). There are two beaches (Vrika and Voutoumi). For a special experience book lunch at Bella Vista, situated up a fairly steep walk up from Voutoumi beach. It has amazing views and very good food (https://bellavistaantipaxos.com/)

  • Dinner and Drinks in Loggos

Dinner at Vassilis. the top eating spot in Loggos (and probably the whole island). Right by the water. Amazing food. And just a ten-minute walk down the hill from Anemone House. Traditional Greek with a twist. Very popular so will need to book. http://vassilisrestaurant.com/about-us/.

Cocktails at Le Rocher. Another favourite Loggos spot, tucked behind the bakery. A gorgeous location right by the water for a delicious drink mixed up by the brothers Spyros and Christos who run the place. Very cool vibe. Nice tunes. Great cocktails. Little beach too for little ones to play on or swim. Also does brunch and coffees during the day. Lots of shade. https://www.instagram.com/lerocherloggos/?hl=en

  • Lazy lunches by the sea

Lazy lunch by the sea at Bouloukos -seaside taverna by Levrechio beach just outside Loggos. Perfect spot for larger groups with kids running around. Right next to our favourite beach at Marmari so often late afternoon beers turn into dinner there. Magical in the evening. Highly recommend. Also do nice lunch and drinks all day. Delicious ice cream too. https://bouloukostaverna.gr/

A day hanging out at Ben’s Bar - the more developed beach on Paxos with decking and sun loungers. Done very nicely though with classic tunes and nice cocktails served to your lounger. All served by the eponymous Ben himself, the very easy going and charming owner who runs a very tight shop and ensures everyone is happy. Stunning location with beautiful beach too. Nice taverna just above that serves lunch (run by Bens mother Effie). Definitely worth spending a day there. To get there take road to Lakka and then turn off at junction to Loggos but take immediate left fork and follow signs to Monodendri beach. Then drive down hill and park up before walking down to bar. https://bens-bar.com/

Aeolus -an alternative to Ben’s -similar set up, but with more Balaeric vibe, lots of shaded areas, loungers, more international food and cocktails. Lovely beach, New watersport centre has also opened there. Gets busy in August so need to book ahead. www.instagram.com/aeolusbeachbar

  • Sunset dinner at Eremitis

incredible setting up on the cliffs facing West and very popular to watch sunset. They have a high end restaurant that is expensive and a little over fancy in terms of food but very good quality and worth it for the whole experience. For a special night out pretty unbeatable. Will need to book table. https://erimitis.com/

  • Walks around the island

There are some amazing options for a non-beach day to go on cliff top walks across the island. Our two favourites are down to the Trpitos Arch (starting point https://maps.app.goo.gl/mAtumiS9YuaWxE146, and follow the coastal path. Takes about 30 mins to walk down, and it is truly worth it). We also love the dramatic cliff top walk near Kastinida windmill, looking down onto Ypapanti's Cave. You get amazing views out into the sea down into the churning surf below.cription goes here. There are many others to choose, especially beautiful offg season when it is less hot and the wonderful flowers and blossom or autumn colours are on full display. https://www.alltrails.com/en-gb/greece/paxos. https://sunflowerbooks.co.uk/product/walking-in-paxos/

It was quite a journey…
